Jeff trained in Richmond, VA for 4-5 years under Top Game BJJ academy owner and black belt, Chris Mahan (a Gustavo Machado affiliate). As a student there he competed several times all over the state in both jiu-jitsu and MMA tournaments. He moved to Lebanon, Tennessee as a purple belt and started training with Profectus Jiu-Jitsu founder and black belt, Jeremy Akin in 2015. That same year, Jeff started a martial arts program affiliated under Jeremy Akin's team "Profectus Jiu-Jitsu". Jeff continues to pursue his quest towards the black belt and trains frequently with Jeremy Akin. Many of his students have performed successfully in competition and the school will have it's first generation of purple belts soon. He himself was promoted to brown belt in 2018 and also earned a bronze medal competing in the 2020 IBJJF(International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) Pan Championships in Orlando, FL.

James is currently a 4-stripe blue belt who has been a staple of consistency and hard work since his journey began with Profectus Jiu-Jitsu Wilco in 2017. He won first place in the annual "Battle for the Blue Belt" tournament held at Profectus Jitsu HQ in Brentwood, TN (with only a couple months of experience!) He has also won gold at the 2018 Nashville Open as a white belt...then again at blue belt in 2019. Mr. Williams demonstrates a strong desire to learn and to give back to our school. Helping with the kids classes, attending seminars, competing in tournaments, and always helping the new white belts! We're blessed to have his loyalty, dedication and family on our team.
